BRIT Awards nominees are announced!
The nominations for The Brit Awards 2013 are in, with Mumford & Sons and Alt-J leading the pack with three nods a piece.
Nick Grimshaw was on hand to announce the hopefuls during the launch at the Savoy Hotel in London, where Critics' Choice winner Tom Odell and Jessie Ware performed.
Mumford & Sons will do battle with Alt-J in the Mastercard British Album of the Year and British Group categories, with the folk band also nominated for British Live Act.
Alt-J will also take on the likes of Jake Bugg, Jessie Ware and Ben Howard for British Breakthrough Act, with Howard also named in the Best Male Solo Artist list where he will take on Olly Murs, Plan B, Calvin Harris and Richard Hawley.
Emeli Sande and Paloma Faith will go head-to-head for Mastercard British Album of the Year and British Female Solo Artist, where the late Amy Winehouse, Bat for Lashes and Jessie Ware were also named.
Boyband of the moment One Direction, Rita Ora and Coldplay have also picked up nominations, with Rihanna, Taylor Swift and fun. also getting a mention in the international categories.
The candidates for British Single are based on the top ten British single sales in the calendar year, with the winner set to be announced at the bash on 20th February.
